I always think school half term week will be quiet with a chance to catch up – nothing could be further from the truth this week with press releases, public relations strategy planning, PR proposals and meetings right through to Friday.
We are just into the second full week of our new website and new name, so we started by catching up on those little snagging issues with the site, giving some of the content even more polish and exploring what developments we need for the next phase.
A new business meeting during the week found us talking PR and social media strategy with a really progressive and growing business in Portsmouth that needed help with strategy, direction and content for its output.
We spent some time talking to them about what they could achieve from a little more strategic direction and followed it up with a detailed proposal for activity. We’ve got our fingers crossed that that might turn into a new client for us.
Public relations strategy planning
Further meetings with other clients have seen us planning the content for an annual report, both printed and on-line; how to manage communications among the tenants of a business park using social media and Facebook groups; and potential improvements to a website that has not been updated for a year.
There was also time for a catch up call with an old contact of mine to chat about podcasting and other audio communications work to help get clients greater coverage on radio and online.
All that on top of staff meetings, our own business strategy, and routine client work including editing video, writing and sending out news releases, creating social media content calendars and completing award entries.
Oh, and we booked our places at the South of England CIPR Awards which are being held in Bristol at the end of November. We are shortlisted for seven awards with four different clients that evening.
So it has been quite a week and, frankly, I am about ready for the weekend now, although also looking forward to next week when we will be doing it all again.
