This week we were at the Devon Business Show in Plymouth to chat all things PR, media relations and social media with companies and business owners from across the South West. And what a day it was!
We had dozens of people drop by our stand to chat about how they communicate with their customers and promote their positive brand messages. More than 150 businesses were exhibiting at the show from across all sectors and it was great to hear about their work. We chatted with people who are giving their clients the very best legal advice but want to shout about it more and even a new corporate team building company using mobile escape rooms to motivate staff. Business is certainly varied and most definitely thriving in Devon.
So what were our highlights from the Devon Business Show? Here’s a few things that people wanted to chat about:
What social media should I use for my business?
Social media has been a growing area of our business and we are thrilled to have been recognised for our excellent social media campaigns. Just a few weeks ago Devon Chamber of Commerce presented us with an award for the Best Use of Social Media at its Annual Business Dinner.
Something that came up in nearly every conversation at the Devon Business Show was social media and which platforms should businesses be using? The answer is unique for every company. A big part of our job is to get to know your business before we come up with the very best social media plan for you. LinkedIn was talked about a lot, as was Facebook. Both of these platforms give business owners great tools to target audiences by interest, demographics, jobs and location.
How do I get my business in the news?
The media are after unique and timely stories that will stop their audience in their tracks to read, watch or listen.
